Welcome to the site! You will find a host of tips, techniques, lake reports and just general bass fishing information here.I guide and offer instruction on South Carolina's Lakes Murray, Marion and Moultrie. The Summer Report 7-26-10
It sure is hot! We have had some days where the heat index is over 100, and that can make for a great farmers tan. The fishing however, though not as easy as spring time conditions has still been good. We have been catching good numbers from the upper reaches of Lake Marion up into the river. 20+ fish a day have been caught and that should hold right on into fall. Some bigger fish from 4 - 7 lbs are mixed in but most are sizably smaller.
Baits of choice have been Fish Stalker's 4' Craw Worm rigged Bungi style (click to a see video)-- Green Pumpkin Texas Red, June Bug, and Plain ole Green Pumpkin have been the consistent colors.
We are also still catching some fish on the trees with wacky rigged Fish Stalker Trick Sticks and Finesse worms in the same colors.
For that early morning (and I mean early!) bite,, we have stuck a few big fish with the SPRO KING DADDY Frog. This is a big bait and getting 1 bite a morning is good,, but hold on if you hook one up! The largest so far is 9.25lb- an absolutely massive fish for summer.
August bookings dates are wide open with September and October getting more attention so if you're ready for some time on the water give me call and get your date set!

SUMMER IS HERE, IT''S HOT-- AND THE WEATHER IS A LITTLE WARM TOO!!
Summer is here and the fishing is hot! When the heat is bearing down, its time to get agressive. The lakes (and the river) are full of vegetation and that spells frogs. I absolutely have learned to love this time of year. For those that are willing get up early and bear a little sweat the action can be exciting. Its not a 30 fish a day thing,, but when you get bites they will surely get your attention-- and PULL BACK! Recent trips have yeilded some impressive sacks. GOT FROG???
Is there any technique anymore exciting than topwater fishing? There is something special about seeing a bucketmouth inhale a bait from the surface that hooks fisherman for life.

IT'S BEEN A GOOD SPRING!
Both Santee-Cooper and Lake Murray have been producing good catches this season.
SANTEE- COOPER
Though we had a few times where the weather didn't cooperate and trips postponed, all and all the fishing has been good. Soft plastics have been doing well for the most part and spinnerbaits and buzzbaits have been fun when the conditions permited. Numerous fish over 8lbs have come to the net, and I have had a few clients with there personal best-- both there largest fish ever and 5 fish agregate weight.

No giants, but the 5 fish total was over 30lb! Can you tell by the grin!
LAKE MURRAY
Lot of fish! This is the fun time of year for Lake Murray! The fish have gotten started and run and gun is the name of the game. Recent trips produced over 20 fish a day, most in the 2-3lb range with a few over 5lbs. I really enjoy this lake in April, May and June-- the fishing is really fun with less need for technical expertise to catch fish.
